Journal writing

This strategy will help students to:

  • generate ideas

  • reflect individually on sexuality and relationships concepts and issues

  • reflect individually on personal attitudes, beliefs and values

Implementation

Students write a personal journal to record skills and attitudes regarding a health topic or behaviour.

Example: Health learning journal

  • Throughout sexuality education, students can maintain a learning journal. They can record their notes and reflections about each topic and any questions they would like answered.

  • The journals can be shared with parents or caregivers, where the student's questions can be discussed.
