Free think

This strategy will help students to:

  • share ideas and opinions and develop respect for others' opinions.

Implementation

A small group discusses a topic, problem, statement or idea. The group writes down all responses. Sometimes the responses may in fact open up another channel for future discussion.

Example: How to look after yourself

Working with a small group, construct a free think of the students' ideas relating to how to care for yourself.

Once the students come up with a substantial number of ideas, discuss each idea and group similar ideas together.

Each student selects the idea that is most important to them. Students can then construct a poster or an annotated picture of ‘How to look after yourself'.
