Scavenger hunt
Scavenger hunt
This strategy will help students to:
-
locate current and relevant information on sexual health issues in a short time frame.
Implementation
-
Give each student a set of questions related to a topic on a ‘scavenger sheet'.
-
Provide literature such as fact sheets, books, posters, pamphlets or a list of websites. This will focus students on the task and let them use their time more efficiently.
-
Ensure the questions are open-ended to allow students to elicit a range of responses. For example: What are the different types of contraception? Who can advise young people about safer-sex practices?
-
Students can work individually or with a partner to answer the scavenger hunt questions.
-
Responses can be used to engage students in class discussions.
