Managed by the Safe and Supportive School Communities (SSSC) Working Group. The SSSC includes representatives from all states and territories, including Catholic and Independent schooling representatives. Members work together to create learning environments where every student and school community member is safe, supported, respected and valued. Includes information about understanding, responding, preventing and teaching about bullying.

Cyber savvy

A web resource developed in Western Australia to help young people prevent and address problems associated with online behaviour, particularly image-sharing.

eSafeKids

eSafeKids educates, equips and empowers children and young people to have safe and positive experiences. eSafeKids support and inspire parents, carers, educators and other professionals to talk with children about Protective Behaviours, body safety, esafety, digital wellness and pornography. Kids Helpline is Australia's only free, private and confidential, telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between 5 and 25. The website also provides lots of valuable information for kids and parents.

Let's talk about where babies come from

Non-fiction

Comics and cartoons outlining:  similarities and differences between girls and boys, growing up, reproductive organs, how babies are made, what sex is, what is love, same sex attraction, conception, pregnancy, different types of birth, genetics (e.g. hair colour), different kinds of families, keeping safe (consensual touch), HIV (but not other STI/BBVs). A book that parents/teachers can read to younger children, or older children can read themselves.

SECCA

SECCA is a non-profit organisation which supports people with disabilities, in their efforts to learn about human relationships, sexuality and sexual health across the lifespan. Offers education and training, counselling and consultancy services.

So what is a vulva anyway?

This UK resource is aimed at educating young people about the vulva (the outside part of the female reproductive system that is often misnamed ‘vagina’). The booklet uses illustrations to normalise the wide range of ‘normal’ when it comes to the appearance of the vulva. It also details the changes which happen during puberty that are often not described.

The Brave Program

A free online self-help program for children, teenagers and parents to help young people with anxiety overcome their worries and improve their quality of lives. Developed by a team of researchers with over 17 years of experience in the field of child anxiety.

The Relationships and Sexuality Education Project

The RSE Project provides a wide variety of professional development opportunities to anyone working in Western Australian schools. This includes two-day workshops, after-school seminars, webinars, symposiums and tertiary education units.
